Walt Disney World Monorail Resorts & How the Loop Works
The Walt Disney World monorail is two connected lines: the Resort loop linking Magic Kingdom, the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC), and the monorail resorts, plus the EPCOT line running from the TTC to EPCOT. Knowing how the loop works helps you judge whether a monorail resort actually saves you time.
The resorts below are generated from our structured transportation data so the list always matches the resort directory.

How the monorail loop is laid out
The Resort monorail makes a continuous loop between Magic Kingdom, the TTC, and the monorail resorts, so reaching the park is usually a single ride. To get to EPCOT, you transfer at the TTC to the separate EPCOT monorail line.
Because it is a loop, travel time depends on your resort's position relative to Magic Kingdom and the TTC. A few monorail resorts also offer a walking path or boat to Magic Kingdom, which can be faster than waiting for the next train.
When the monorail is the right call
The monorail is most valuable for Magic Kingdom-heavy days and for avoiding bus transfers to that park. For Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and direct EPCOT trips, you will still rely on buses or the EPCOT line, so plan those legs separately.
If you are choosing a resort rather than learning the system, see our resort-focused monorail comparison linked below.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Disney World monorail work?
The Resort monorail loops between Magic Kingdom, the Transportation & Ticket Center, and the monorail resorts. A separate EPCOT line runs from the TTC to EPCOT, so reaching EPCOT requires a transfer at the TTC.
Does the monorail go to every park?
No. The monorail directly serves Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (via the TTC). Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom are reached by bus.
Which resorts are on the monorail?
The monorail serves the Magic Kingdom-area resorts listed on this page. Each has a direct monorail station on the Resort loop.
